Do you want to play Baseball? We are always on the lookout for new players for this season and for seasons to come. No experience is necessary as we will teach you the basics, and help you learn the game. For those that already have some experience of the game, then hopefully our practice sessions will help you improve as a player. We don't expect anyone to commit themselves to the club without trying it first. We also try and ensure that everyone receives their fair share of playing time relative to the number of games they are available for, so that you won't spend the whole season on the bench just because you are a rookie. Although we try and play each game competitively, we are also concerned with everyone learning and enjoying the game - as we are all amateurs after all! There is a financial commitment to made at the start of the season, in order that we can insure each player against injury and accidental damage and cover the costs required in running a team. We ask that this be paid before playing in a competitive game, although practice sessions are open to anyone. The club has a good supply of gloves, bats and protective equipment, as well as playing uniforms, so you don't need to have any in advance. However most players do eventually tend to purchase their own glove in order to wear them in to their liking, and also their uniform so that they can add names and squad numbers to their game shirts. Typical costs involved in playing the game are as follows: Annual Registration - £100 (payable by 31st Dec before the season) * Students
or those not in full-time employment pay only £75 Typical Kit costs: Game Shirt
- £30 (incl Names and Numbers on back) So if you are interested in giving baseball in this country a try, then please feel free to come along to one of our practices/games, or give me a call to find out more about it. I look forward to hearing from you. Michael GENERAL
